Intro
Claude Ayan: friend of Fizzle Sparkwhistle, hires the party to retrieve a strange crystal – it’s an artifact that he’s not sure what it does but has something to do with something called the Singularity, and or the word Quiddity. He’s been studying it.
“I can’t imagine who would want it, or even know I have it. It does seem to harness some sort of essence or power, but I haven’t determined what. Perhaps it is worth more than I thought – figured it was only useful for science. I have no clues to go on, but Fizzle said you guys would be the right ones to ask.”
He describes it as easy to spot. Emits a pink-purplish glow, electricity dances within it and tendrils leak off. He offers 50gp each and Falor suggest that is 50gp for each member of the guild.
The Theater
Once a vibrant hub of artistic expression, the abandoned theater now lies in disrepair, its cracked walls festooned with vines and its broken marquee dimmed forever. The air is thick with dust, and the silence reverberates with the echoes of forgotten applause. Nestled within the bustling district of Ska R’wyk, the theater serves as a nexus for the underworld, drawing the eyes of xenolith thieves from far and wide as they auction stolen artifacts under the watchful gaze of unseen patrons. This city’s tangled network of alleyways and hidden doorways conceals more than just the theater’s secrets.
- Arrive at Theater. It is guarded by a ghostly apparition
- Try to trick spirit guard, who goes to check with organizer. Organizer knows Erdan, lets them in
- Theater has many groups individually selling items to “Collectors”. They are on stage – tall and still. Wearing long dark robes – hoods pulled up cast deep shadows over their faces
- Mouse is there, selling her map. Also: Arius Shardkeeper, Gretchen Shadowweaver
- Guy approaches Collectors with glowy gem with lightning tendrils and they buy it
- Party (via Mouse) asked Gretchen about Jacques. She hushes and makes a secretive nod at Collectors who seem to notice
- Someone has a mask to sell, Collectors buy it and immediately seem agitated
- Electric hum noise as party notices a masked face from one of the Collectors. Lightning bolts fly out, another Collector flings a ring of electricity and drops a couple people, Collectors disappear
- Guy who stole the lightning gem is intimidated by Falor
- Someone notices Collectors appear in other room down the hall, trapdoors found
- Party chases, down into a basement.
- Find secret door
- Explore more, hit by blade trap
- Find thieves hideout with Phantasmatrix of Opera guy (Cacophony attack) and Spectral Scribe minons (ink quill weapons). Battle ensues
- Find storage room with tunnel cut into it – looks new(ish) and not “built” – more like a burrowing creature
