The party is finally out to sea – heading towards the island chains west of the Sword Coast. Thge rumoured home of Iggwilv’s fromer cavern.

The second day out from Thornhold is… pleasant. The wind is strong and steady, snapping the sails with purpose rather than menace. Low clouds drift lazily across a pale blue sky, never quite threatening rain. The sea rolls beneath you in long, confident swells, the kind that carry a ship forward instead of fighting it. Gulls wheel overhead. The horizon feels wide and honest. For a time, it almost lets you forget what kind of ship you’re on. Then someone points.

Far off, just above the line where sky kisses water, there’s a speck. Nothing alarming, just the dark suggestion of canvas and hull, distant enough to be mistaken for a trick of light. Minutes pass, and the speck becomes a silhouette. Masts. Sails. A ship running a clean, aggressive line across your course. It isn’t flying colors. As the distance closes, there’s a subtle wrongness to it. The way it moves – confident, deliberate. The way it doesn’t signal. The way it seems to be watching you.

Then the air screams.

A thunderous crack splits the calm as a ballista bolt tears across the sea, skimming the waves before slamming into your ship with bone-shaking force. Bone splinters and grinds, rigging snaps as the impact echoes through the hull. The smell of salt and smoke floods the deck. Across the water, the other ship adjusts its course without hesitation.

  • The enemy initiates combat and the party springs to action. They instantly make a dent in the enemy ranks, dropping some, wounding others
  • Heddtirria climbs the crow’s nest to take shots from a vantage point.
  • Ernault secures the help of the Death Knight, and gets Ford
  • Olwë calls on the power of Deep Sashelas – he has felt some energy of an opposing god. He summons the power of lightning to do his bidding
  • Tookit moves stealthily, faster than most can notice, to pop in and out of vision, shooting the enemy.
  • Several large devillish looking opponents swarm the deck with a mass of skeletons, as the ship closes ranks. The captain appears to be part Sea Elf, part Sahuagin
