Ya-rahq

First introduced in Session 29 on December 28, 2023

Ya’Rahq is situated on the eastern shore of the inland sea at the site of an ancient meteor crater, which forms a protective cove and natural harbour. That, coupled with the presence of many tribes of nomadic peoples in the area make it a hub for trade. Many artisans, merchants, inventors, and the like make their base of operations in the bazaars of Ya’Rahq.

Seafarers are common, and they bring with them exotic spices and items from far away lands.

A strong tradition of magic and mysticism runs through the various cultures of the area

Some of the Garhoo’ndim who first came to Ska R’yth were lifelong desert-dwellers, and chafed at the idea of building their homes on the Yushad Ridge. Their leader, a wizard named Rahqur al-Hayra, led them on a trek acrss the A’mun Desert to a cove along the coast of the Inland Sea. There they found an oasis, an island of green amid the sands. Rahqur thrust his staff into the ground, bringing forth fresh water, and declared that all the desert folk would be welcome in this place. Sadly, Rahqur was slain in a magic duel with a Mummy Lord before the town, called Ya’Rahq, was completed

Notes

The general goods shopkeeper in the bazaar will suspect he was cheated by Linkon if his “magical” monocle doesn’t attune to him within a few weeks
