It’s a sunny day in Neverwinter. The gentle breeze, a mainstay of this port city, ventures in from the sea, carrying with it a mixture of smells from the docks. A sturdy base of fishiness from the day’s successful trawls cradles pockets of spices, perfumes, and other fragrant trade goods upon which the local economy is built.
The din of a busy populace – various voices in discussion, cart wheels creaking, craftsman’s tools ringing – mingle with the piercing cries of marine birds to create a muddled soundtrack, [almost as realistic as the ones that Cam produces] that permeates the narrow streets.
the breeze is forced down alleys and cross-paths, intersecting with itself and creating eddies in its flow. A stray leaf is picked up and whirled along in the wake of a group of children, running along playing some stupid game that stupid children play. [rotten kids – making me lose my poetic flow…]
Passing a nondescript alley the leaf is snatched away by another cross-breeze and gathers speed before slamming into a sign above the pockmarked door of what appears to be a small tavern. As it makes it’s way to the roughly cobbled ground below, it slides across letters spelling out the name: The Rolling Phog
